What annual do you consider a "must have" in your garden and why ??

One of my fav annual that I have each year is a sunflower, and it is because they make me smile when I see them, they are great for keeping color in the garden all season ( I sow them all spring and summer) and I love watching the birds enjoy the seed all thru fall.

What is a "must have " in your garden ?
