I see a lot of photos of morning glories on the forum but am curious about the structures you all have them on. I am in a house now without a chain-link fence like I had at my old place. I miss my fence so much because I was able to grow vines without having to buy or have my husband make new trellises.
I am really interested in architectural elements of gardening and would sure like to see some photos of the vines climbing on something. Does anyone have any photos?
I grow them on lattice ,

I have several vines growing
I have several vines growing over my lattice fencing but my favorite this year was the morning glories that grew up my star jasmine and also had another one growing up my Tea Tree (where we get tea tree oil)....They kept everything colorful even tho the *host* plants had bloomed and were not looking their best....Just another take on vines....lol.
I have a long wooden fence

I am blessed with a hubby
I am blessed with a hubby who is always thinking of what can I do with this or I wonder if Mari could use this for her flowers. So anyway he brought home some black plastic construction fencing that we cut and wired on our cement block wall fencing. The vines I have are loving it! Great for their wondering trendrils to climb. I have even strapped a couple of my rose canes to it with some pantyhose & they are growing great! I do have a pot of calla lillies that sprouted a morning glory vine so I just put a long stick in it so far it's growing up it. Gotta love thase birds for planting that on me, hehe!
Susan I loved your post but
Hi Dorothy! Im sorry I dont
Susan -- I do have to wonder
Thanks I have to check that
I don't really use any
I don't really use any supports. Here I have several vines growing up the wall.....With the exception of my Chinese red noodle beans that had a small piece of lattice that was attached to bamboo stakes, even that just grew up the wall. [img_assist|nid=1521|title=Vines growing up the wall|desc=I have cardinal climber, cypress vine and morning glories all growing up this wall. There were no supports: they just grew up the wall themselves. Occasionally I would stick them into various places to try to get them to stay...Most of the time, it fell over, but ultimately, this is what I had.|link=popup|align=left|width=134|height=200] [img_assist|nid=1524|title=Morning glories growing up the wall|desc=I have morning glories growing up a wall here. There are no supports, just the wall!|link=popup|align=left|width=134|height=200] [img_assist|nid=574|title=Chinese Red Noodle Bean Vines bearing fruits -- at long last!|desc=Here are some of the earliest Chinese Red Noodle Beans as they are beginning to mature on the vines. They have been producing more and more since then, but due to the requests I have been getting for seed from GH members (and of course myself,) I am leaving the beans on the vines to mature enough to produce seeds and then harvesting the vines to get the seeds. It's proving to be really fun and exciting. These beans are highly nutritious and are said to be a good source of protein. They grow vigorous and tall vines so they require ample support, but they are also prolific producers that seem to do really well and thrive in hot weather more than most other vegetables.|link=popup|align=left|width=134|height=200]
