We are supposed to get a
We are supposed to get a mixture of rain and snow this afternoon and tonight... it is pretty cloudy out there now, and not too warm either.
I personally have had enough rain.... I could use a nice warm sunny weekend to get out and finish cleaning out the gardens....
Sunny and 70ish would make me very happy.... I am itching to get planting my veggies.... But I need to wait about another 8 weeks for it to be safe.... Here's to hoping the weather clears before that....
sunny and 70'sish would make
west coast weather
We have had 3 weeks now of mostly nice weather. Lot's and lot's of sunny days, temps have been hitting into the 50's and today was even warmer, about 60. mornings have been warm enough to have coffee on the deck in my robe so that always brightens my day! frosts quit a while back, but that does not mean we won't get anymore! you never know. Went to the beach with the grandkids on thursday, that was a real treat even with heavy coats on! was going to post a pic of one of the grandkids on the beach, they are too cute! but don't know how.... will have to go figure it out!
hope winter is over
Im hoping all the snow is behind us now.....it is mid march afterall.......time for a change.....
havent seen wombat around......where are you John???
He was here a couple of
He was here a couple of days ago and he said he had been pretty busy.
It was cloudy when I stepped outside awhile ago to feed Sam, but no rain at the time. The clouds are nimbus clouds though so it's only a matter of time.

Super Winter Storms
The weather experts up here have coined the low pressure cells that form over Texas Super Storms because these cells drag warm humid Gulf Air up here as these cells track northeast. These cells by the time they get up here pull in cold arctic air and the result is a massive winter storm. This last one covered most of the eastern part of the US and Southern Ontario. It tracked northeast and covered the southern part of Quebec. This storm was loaded with moisture so we recieved a ton of snow, thus, the name Super Storm is aptly used in such a weather event!!
It is a cold 19F with sunny blue skies today!!
We are expecting more snow on Tuesday!!!

Still snowing!
The heavier snowfalls have tapered off. Now it is a steady lighter snowfall. Still expecting a few more hours of it! It is a cold 18F so the snow is dry and easy to shovel! It got barely up to 30F this afternoon! This has been one very massive storm!!
I wont be surprised about another Texas Super Storm for us by Tuesday!! Again, with more snow!!!
I'd rather have the snow then the rain, freezing rain and tornados that developed south of us!!

We're being buried!
I shovelled 3" last evening, and another 6" late this morning! Now we are waiting for the second wave of heavier snow to move in any time now!!
Everyone is out trying to keep ahead as the snow piles up!
Scrape, scrape!!
Shovel, shovel!!

Ron, sorry to hear about
Ron, sorry to hear about your snow! Brace yourself, though! I see that another big storm is supposed to come barrelling through Texas tomorrow night, bringing us some severe rain storms, and maybe tornadic weather. I don't know where it's headed after us, but I hope for your sake that it's not coming at you!
Now y'all know why I absolutely DESPISE winter with a passion! If I could live in zone 11, I'd be a really happy camper!

hope you get a melt Ron
Haven't broke any records yet!
3"s so far and sooo much more is on its way for tomorrow. Light snow fall throughout tonight, but tomorrow afternoon the second wave will move in with even more moisture!! Expecting around 20"s!!! We had more then usual snow in February but March will more then set a record for total snow for the season. At least we are not getting any dreaded freezing rain that everyone shivers about!! I'd rather have snow then ice!!
To make a bad situation worse we are expecting high winds tomorrow to blow all that white stuff into drifts!!!
This weekend is the start of the March Break! I feel for all those travellers heading south tomorrow.....maybe! I'd hate to get stuck in an airport because of cancelled/delayed departures!!

Well Ron, I must
Well Ron, I must admit, I'm glad that the Jet Stream is sucking that gulf moisture up the western side of the mountains towards you all and causing them to miss us.

This is getting monotonous!!
Here we go again! Another Texas Super Storm is upon us!! Just started to snow!
Expecting around 2"s today, then a pause overnight, then heavy snows tomorrow!! We could see an accumulation of 14" by tomorrow evening!! That includes lake effect snow from the northeast winds!!

We survived another Texas
We survived another Texas storm!
We had very high winds last night with ice pellets and snow, Got a good 7" in total!
The snow tapered off late this morning, then started the clean up! A fellow knocked on the door and asked if he could clear our snow. He said $10 would do the trick, and I was happy to pay him since the snow was very heavy with layers of ice pellets.
It's been sunny all afternoon, and the snow is starting to melt with a high of 30F!
The next weather event is scheduled to move in for Saturday, with more snow!
At least we are at the end of winter, and the snow wont stick around for long!!
Only 16 more days to Spring!! ...at least according to the calendar!!

Here we go again!!
I'm waiting for the next storm to move in. It is taking its sweet ole time to get here for an Alberta Clipper! Clippers usually move quickly!!
The temp is going up (21F from 3F last night) with heavy overcast, so I guess the storm front is moving in finally!

Clouds and sunshine
Looks like Mother Nature cannot decide what she wants to do today,,,there is sunshine with an occasional cloud shadowing it, lots of wind and about 60 F. Trees are budding out already. Still 3 weeks for possible cold weather but it will be brief. I think spring is sprung here.
Today is the day the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it

downright frigid
Cool but looking up
A brisk 11F this morning, with a stout 15 MPH wind. A bit cool for the end of February, but not all that unusual. Looks to warm up to more seasonable 40s and 50s this weekend. Expecting the edge of a clipper tommorrow, then southerly flow returns.

More SNOW!!
It started snowing late last night and its been snowing all day! Heavier at times with a few pauses in the fall every now and then! Went up to 32F so the snow was wet and packed down. Hard to say how much snow fell since it compacted as it fell....could be 4"s or less. Not even worth shovelling!!
Glenda~ bring your shovel and take some home with you! It is fee snow!!

Are yo braggin or complaining
Roman's 8: 28, 29
I wish we had had one blizzard type snow. we had temps all winter like a yo yo.
Ine day in the 50s and the next in the 20's.
But the one thing we didnot get was a freeze deep enough to kill the bug eggs in the top few inches of dirt so we will be up to our butts in little black gnats this summer.
I hate those things LOL

We can't usually plant
We can't usually plant anything tender until Memorial weekend here.
We got another 6" of snow yesterday. I want spring.... Less than a month to go on the calendar but will mother nature agree???
We get our full share of
Roe, I told Kathy (MSBL)
That has caught me a couple
Thanks for reminding me of
Thanks for reminding me of why my hubby and I moved south! I am originally from Chicago, but my hubby's an Iowan. I lived there for 22 years before moving south! I hate winter and hate snow even more!
