Thanks SandiB! It took 4

Thanks SandiB!

It took 4 months - but I only got to work on it for about three hours at a time - when the baby (now three) took naps, and while my older boy (now seven) was at school. Last June when school was out, I still wasn't done so I sent the boys to the babysitter across the street the first week of Summer to get it finished. It was fun, but definitely a 'labor' of love!

My Boys' Room

Last year, before giving up my 'craft room' as a bedroom for my boys, I let them choose a theme. They wanted me to 'bring the outdoors inside'  so I let them pick what I would paint (yes, I let them get carried away..) The entire room is a mural - even the ceiling is painted! It has a glow-in-the-dark Solar System.

I really enjoy painting, and the room turned out better than I expected.

Here's photos of each side of the room...I have photos of each individual painted item, if you want to see 'close- ups' -just let me know...

It definetely counts! So

It definetely counts! So much patience is required to make all the lines perfect, I once painted a classroom light lime green and the chalk board wall - bright green. The idea was to keep my students awake ~ It worked! And then I decided to accent the room with white columns. By the time I finished, it looked nice, but I'nt painting no more!!!!!!!

I painted........

my bathroom a bright gold on 2 walls & wall papered 2 walls about 3 weeks ago.

Does that count? It was a "project"!  And I love to paint.

you bet it counts!

SandiB,

sounds really pretty. Once upon a time I painted a bathroom butter yellow and accented it with magenta towels. It fairly glowed and was the prettiest room in the house. In my humble opinion any kind of decorating is art unto itself.

Chellflower, what did you

Chellflower, what did you do with all stained glass tools and scrap glass? By the way, I'd like to move this conversation to stained glass forum, since we are going into some details here and it's NOT about painting :)

Speaking of painting, do we have any garden members who painted their gardens or particular flowers that they grew? Please show us your talents!Tatyana

Tatyana, I still have all

Tatyana, I still have all of my SG tools & supplies, and lots of glass! My mom-in-law got a nice large storage building a couple of years ago -it also has a work table at one end (electicity too!). I keep my stuff stored there, including leftover SG items I used to sell at craft shows (Candle lampshades, suncatchers, mirrors w/SG overlays, etc). I haven't had time to design or make anything for a couple of years, but we're hoping to get a house with a yard before long and it WILL have a shop or garage -if I have to buy/build one myself LOL!  I'll see if I have any photos of my stuff lying around. And I agree, we probably should move this to the SG forum-I love talking stained glass!

Awesome! I love stained

Awesome! I love stained glass!  I got into it as a hobby while working at a SG window shop. My boss was so cool- he gave me glass scraps and showed me lots of tips! He's retired the business after 30 years, but we still stay in touch.

I had to pack up my Stained Glass stuff  after my 2nd child was born - the boys needed a bedroom and we don't have a shop/garage. Its in storage until we move to a bigger place -I sure miss making pretties...

Tatyana, I noticed a Stained Glass section in the Arts & Crafts forum. It would be nice to see your  photos, etc of your work in there! It may also attract other SG enthusiasts to the forum. I know I would visit it frequently!
