Using Trees, Posts, & Fences for Trellises: Trellis of Plastic Wire attached to a metal post. Plastic posts would work just as well.Using Trees, Posts, & Fences for Trellises: Trellis of Plastic Wire attached to a metal post. Plastic posts would work just as well.First I'll write about using posts around your gardens for trellises.  I've been at a loss to find a place to grow the many new vines I've received.  I have Convolvus, Morning Glory 'Pearly Gates', and 5 kinds of JMG.  I simply don't have enough chain link fence to put them all, and besides, I really want to keep the colors separate this year.  So I've decided to use the various posts that are near my other gardens.  This post is a metal post, and if you happen to have white plastic posts, this would work for them too.  You may have to use a little elbow grease and bleach to clean them after the vines come down, but in my opinion, the beauty would be worth it.

Great Idea!

Thanks for the Idea! I was wondering where i could have my MG's grow on...All i have is a wooden fence,i dont think that would work out too well! Thanks again!

wow Maw, that is a great idea. I have been picking up all the limbs that have fallen down from the wind for my mgs. I have a lot of vines this year too.
