Hello mawnature ! I wanted to ask you if you know of the mallow plants ? They are native to Louisiana I think.
The tri color Hibiscus is of the mallow family I'm told.
I had one several years ago that was bigger than a dinner plate. They tell me that they grow wild in the swamps there and you can make marshmallows with the root. Is this a big ole goof ball story ? I am puzzled by people wanting seed from the Hibiscus plant. Is the seed where the blooms falls off ? Do you pick it when the bloom falls or wait until it dries ? I have started several by cuttings but not tried the seed route yet. Boy I guess I have thrown away bushels of seed if this is the case. We love to visit Louisiana and eat crawfish and gumbo.. Well thanks for the comment about my pics and more will come.
Sweet Mammy
Beautiful Hibiscus!!
