Printer-friendly version My umbrella over my patio table got all torn up from the wind. I took all the material off the metal parts. Put it in the ground and made a trellis. I had the silver lace vine and the red cypress vine growing on it this past summer and fall. It was beautiful. I have a picture, but for some reason they will not load on here. (as you all probably could tell where I tried to upload a container garden of lantana, mexican petunias and an angel trumpet yesterday)You can stand it up, putit in slanted or even use an umbrella stand if you have one laying around. Another thing, if you use sheetrock/drywall doing remodeling, or get scraps from someone building a house etc, break it up and put it in your gardens, its calcium. Save your used tea bags and spray them with deep heat (spray for arthritis pain) put these where your bothered with animals in your gardens.(domestic or wild animals.

Never heard of that

Georgie, I never heard of the tea bag/Deep Heat repellant before. I wonder if you could distribute these around your foundation to keep mice from moving into the house in the fall.

Tea Bag/Deep Heet

I never tried it for mice, because I have 3 cats outside. Mice do not stand a chance. I works with my cats in my flower beds. Every time I would dig in a bed, they thought I was making them a new litter box. I wouldn't hurt to try it.
