garden junk
I'm not sure what the problem is???? look in my photos.
I'm getting excited
I'm getting excited hearing you talk about it! I hope that our enthusiasm will inspire you to write an article about it and how you did it once you've completed it. I think that's such a great way to take advantage of something that's no longer functional and make something truly great looking and useful....My big question is how you'll keep the heat in without any sort of heating system. Do you plan to wire the place or will you rely solely on sunlight? Can you place solar panels in strategic places to generate both more heat and more light?

This is going to be a do as we go project as far as the heating..my plan is to have it wired..and just run a small heater of some sort..wont need humidity thats for sure..I will have a small storm door on it (also recycled)...
Are you going to use the
Are you going to use the doors on the roof so that you can vent the greenhouse? IE keep the latches and handles on them so you can prop them open if it is too hot inside?
Great idea...
WINDOW GREENHOUSE
Hi Heidi
,,,I'm only using the glass doors for a roof..they will be screwed together...i will have some of the windows functional for air..and the storm door that will be on the front will be to go in and out with a raised window in it...thanks to all of you for all the comments...
greenhouse
I go to the freecycle site and post ...I have picked up around 20 windows from there...and have bought quite a few more..paid no more than $8. a window...and I have also found some on the curb...my son in N.C has also found a house that they are redoing the windows..and they have agreed to let him come get them out of their way..
Mine isnt built yet...that is a picture of one that I am going by....But all the windows i have got besides just a couple ,are in excellent condition...my dad has two huge tempered glass doors that we are using for the roof. I am getting too excited talking about this
Jo, I was wondering how
Jo, I was wondering how you got those windows. They all look like they are the same, so I wondered whether someone freecycled them or if you got them from some a place that sells old stuff like that or what....I'm blown away by the cleverness of it!

Holy Canoli, joega! That's a brilliant idea! Will it stay warm enough just from the sun????????? Not only are you making great use of recycled junk, but it's really attractive looking! Perhaps you'd like to do an article on that project and tell us how you built it! I just think it's too cool for words! Thanks for sharing! You can't see me smiling from ear to ear, but I definitely am!!! That's really creative! Bravo to ya!
