No more ticks!

Those nasty bugs can be a real problem in some regions - esp the woody South! To help ensure your furry friends and kids don't collect ticks from your shrubs, try this spray!

One thing - this has to be done at the evening, as the alcohol in the spray will burn plant leaves if it's used in the sun!

1 Tbsp dishwashing liquid

2 cups isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol

1 gallon rain or soft water

Mix and pour into a 6 gallon hose-end sprayer, and spray your shrubbery plants from top to bottom, making sure you get underneath the leaves where those nasty tics like to hang out! Repeat when necessary to keep those critters from ruining the fun.

Doing this an evening or two before bbqs, parties & gatherings is a great idea!

Got shrooms?

Tired of seeing all those nasty looking toadstools under your trees? Sprinkle 2 cups of dry laundry detergent (not the liquid) over the area (works great in a hand-held spreader) and those toadstools will be history!

Disease Defense Tonic

Most common flower garden diseases are caused by fungus- parasites on our plants. Stop mildew and fungi in their tracks with this tonic!

1 cup chamomile tea

1 tsp dishwashing liquid

1/2 tsp vegetable oil

1/2 tsp of peppermint oil

1 gallon warm water

Mix in a bucket, pour into a hand-held sprayer. Spray your plants every week or so before the really hot weather sets in.  This is a strong elixir, so you may wish to test it on few leaves first and wait to make sure it doesn't harm the plant, can be diluted as needed.
