Paeonia Bartzella

I have been admiring this peony for some time.  I am finally going to take the leap...I think....and purchase it.  I thought I would first ask here if anybody else owns it and what they think of it before I actually go to the expense of buying it.  It is so pretty in the catalogs and online but I have never seen one in person.

I have actually found it for $39.95 for a 4 1/2 inch potted plant. It may take a while for it to get big enough to bloom...but I think it will be well worth the wait. A friend is a bloom that never fades my trade list http://www.gardenhere.org/node/483

This is a relatively new introduction which is becoming more available as the stocks are increased!

It is a hybrid created from crossing a herbaceous paeonia x tree paeonia.

The price for one is in the $150.00 range, which is way too expensive for me.  Prices should drop over the next few years as growers build up a supply of plants.

I've been looking at it but have to wait for the prce to come down for me buy it. I bought a yellow one(the package said it was yellow) at Walmart a few yrs back but it bloomed pink....   Anxious to see if anyone else has it

I dont own one, but the smell alone would make me want one.....they all say it is amazing !!!

 I hope someone can tell you more about them.....maybe we can sit in the garden together in a few years and smell them...LOL
