Ooooookay - not that I mind, but I do have a question,  Wink   just to help me understand, please.

After posting a follow-up question in a thread begun by another user, I noticed the following message at the top of the page:
* User Garden One earned 1 points! Total now is  281 points.
* User zuzus petals lost 1 points! Total now is 58 points.

Now, as I said, it's not that I mind Garden One having extra points,Laughing   but, as  I didn't intentionally "donate" a point, I'm just wondering how this occurred?
I did edit my own post (to clarify a question) - so  could this point transfer be the result of my editing my post?

I know, Embarassed  I'm a nosey old bird, but I do like to know how things work. *LOL*

I contacted Al last night to

I contacted Al last night to let him know that the points system wasn't working properly. I had posted many messages over the last few days and my points hadn't changed at all since sometime last week. I THOUGHT it was working properly as of this morning. Clearly it's not.

You can lose points that aren't lost because you donate them to someone. Here are a few ways by which you can lose points. I think that the reasons for losing them in these cases are perfectly legit.

  • Somehow, you post a picture and it gets posted twice. You're awarded points twice. The duplicate picture would be deleted and you'd lose the points for the duplicate post.
  • Conversely, you post a message and are a little too quick to click on enter. The message gets posted twice. You'll receive points twice. Now, this has to be worked out so that we can delete the duplicate message without deleting all the responses in the process, but that duplicate post would be deleted and you'd lose however many points for the second post.

These are the only circumstances that come to mind at the moment, but if others come up, I'll let you know!
