Moist soil needed. Full sun. tends to get top heavy so needs staking. Grows up to 36" high, forms small rosettes that need to be divided every other year or they die out. Good for bog gardening.

Funny you ask!
I have yet to see any hummingbirds visit my garden. Not sure why? Probably because I'm the only one with extensive gardens. Guess it is not worth staying around and go off to more blooming pastures!
Now, I do see hummingbird moths visit the garden and they lay their eggs on the Virginia Creeper I have growing along the back fence. I usually see them around the mid June for a few weeks. Another moth is the Bumblebee Moth which is frequent visitor in July/August. They are very difficult to get a photo of them because they do not sit still long enough for me to snap one! I chased one around the garden with my camera a few year back and all I got was a very blurred photo for my effort!!
It is almost time to dig up and divide my clump. Got to do it in the next week, or so, and ammend the soil before re-planting them !!
Here's a photo of what one plant creates for the second year. There are at least a dozen offsets needing to be divided.

Beautiful
Ron if you ever have any extras that you would like to get rid of, please keep me in mind. I saw some in a flower book but I couldn't see paying $20 a piece for them. And trust me I have plenty of moist soil for them to grow in....LOL
