A limb broke off my pear tree

Do I need to do anything to the tree where the limb broke off as I didn't get out soon enough to take some of the pears off it. I have taken over 300 pears off the tree so far as the branches were too loaded with pears and they were bending too much. Such a shame to waste all that fruit but had to.... Thanks everyone

If its ragged make it a clean

If its ragged make it a clean cut with a saw. You can use paint or tar to seal the 'wound' to keep pests out. In time the tree will scab over itself.
