If it is too long, it won't show up as a teaser either.

Getting Text to show in Article List
One thing I noticed was some of my articles showed up in the articles list (Main Areas→ Articles/Stories) with only the Title showing and none of the introductory paragraph like other articles in the list. This makes it easy for browsers to overlook your article. It is much better to have some of the body of the article follow the title, so potential readers will be drawn into it. After all we post to be read.
Well the solution to this issue is to be sure your first paragraph is relatively short, then the posting system will display it under the title. If it is too long before there is a linebreak, the sytem ignores the body when adding the title to list. I don't know what the continuous character count of the field is before it acts this way, but you may need to experiment and edit the article a bit to get that first bite out there for potential readers to see.
