Zinnia Hit By Gustav

My tall, bushy orange Cactus Zinnia was split by the high winds of Gustav that blew through on Tuesday.  It was a beautiful, very productive plant so I'm very sorry it's gone.  This photo shows how large the stalks are, and how they split apart.

weather channel says Ike is

weather channel says Ike is going to go into the gulf too, Hanna is on the coast of Nc now. hopefully Ike will be good and just rain and no wind,its a catagory 3 now, Ike Please be Good! will have to watch and see...

Wow, that's some damage that Gustav did to that poor lovely plant! Did you manage to get seeds from any blooms earlier? I sure hope so!

 

I just heard this morning that Ike is a category 4 hurricane and it looks like he may be headed to the Gulf.........as if we need more hurricanes there.

Thankfully, though, it appears that Hanna is only a tropical storm and won't get much more, if any more strength.

I sure pray for all who may be affected by any of these storms.

....at Ike's projected path, and it does show him going to up the west coast of FL, and farther on into the Gulf.  Frown It will be a wait & see, though....I've heard this is an extra busy Hurricane season, and I believe it!  Still praying for those in the path of Hannah and Ike.

I just got through looking at the Weather Channel here on my PC.  It looked like NC & VA were going to get most of the rain, but who really knows?  Bet you get your share of it too.  At least Hanna didn't become a hurricane!  Hopefully Ike will loose some of his steam by the time he gets to the US coast.  I'm praying for you and all our other members in the paths of these two storms.  I had a lot of uprooted plants that I had to straighten and stake.  I did get a few seeds from the zinnia before it was split.
