Good list ! I know there is a Monring Glory plant grown with/by a caudex. I almost bought a few seeds for 9.95 but fount the caudex plant !

Wow, I had never heard of a morning glory that grows from a tuber or a caudex. I'd love to see pics of those if ya'll end up growing them. I planted some dahlia seeds this spring that I had gotten in trade & they formed pretty big tubers. I had always thought that the dahlias you grow from seed were annuals, but I guess since it grew a tuber it'll probably come back next year since dahlias can be over-wintered in the ground here.
Speaking of dahlias, this was the first year I had grown them, and I found they don't seem to like the summer heat here. Are you supposed to grow them with morning sun/afternoon shade? I had thought they were full sun plants. Maybe it was a watering issue, too much or too little. Mine grew well in the spring, but as soon as it got real hot the lower leaves would dry up and fall off. They got real scraggly looking and I had to cut them back. Anybody know how to remedy this? If they're going to grow like this every year, I may have to get rid of them. I don't have space for plants in my garden that fizzle out in the summer.

I've only grown Dahlias
I've only grown Dahlias from tubers in full sun and did real well for us. It was a few years ago I bid on twelve different named Dahlia tubers. We had bouquets and bouquets of flowers, dinner plate size they started to bloom June/July and bloomed at Christmas , still were blooming at Easter !
This year we just planted a dozen or so border size smaller Dahlia tubers but the rabbits kept eating them to the ground .
Yes There are Morning glories that form or can be propagated by tubers, and there are vining Morning Glories that grown a caudex and I love growing caudex plants. The caudex one is on my wish list Dear Santa !
There are fragrant MG and MG that are perennial , some grow as dwarf bushes don't trail and some grow as trees !
I love growing Morning Glories ! Dahlias too ! Oh did you know there is a perennial Saliva that forms a tuber too it's on my list too !
