Delphinium

Looks like my larger delphiniums, but most of mine pictured are shades of blue.

Dizzy...

Your delphiniums are gorgeous! I have the 'Magic Fountians' blue and 'Blue Butterfly'. I see some others I am going to have to get now! When I went out to take the pics of the leaves I discovered that most of my delphiniums have died...so I guess I'll be doing some replacing. I LOVE that 'Summer Blues'. Have to get that one!

Love my delphiniums!

The magic fountains has seeded well and bloomed over & over. The summer blues bloomed well but only has given up a few seeds. Just found the tag & misnamed the white - have to go correct that!

How large is the flower? I

How large is the flower?

I was kind of thinking it might be a gardenia or a camelia.......It looks very much too large to be either delphinium or larkspur...besides, they look more like bells, I think.

If when you take another picture, you can get some of the foliage, that may really help!

I found this link that may help you.....The flower looks similar.

Gardenia

Maybe

It's a little hard to tell without seeing the leaf, but the flower reminds me of Delphinium. Try a google image search 'delphinium leaf'. There are a few different kinds and the leaves look quite different. They grow as a large cluster of leaves and shoot up tall flower stalks.

I couldn't find a very good pic, but check this out... Delphinium  ...(click on the last photo at the bottom).  Good luck... they're pretty!

Or...

Or possibly Larkspur, which is almost the same as delphinium. The bud stalk and flower look like it could be one of those. Larkspurs have more of an airy foilage(can't spell today!), which I can't tell for sure from your pic, but it looks like your plant may have foilage like that. Going to go out and take pics of leafs of each and post for you!
