I managed to save my girl Tropicanna during our last move.
This is a first for me growing a Hybrid Tea rose since they really did'nt fair well back in Michigan.
I think the severe winters and early spring thaws had a lot to do with their demise. I bought every
rose cover they made & even made my own but they still managed to die off.
She has such pretty orangeish red blooms. So what do you have growing?
Roses
Belinda's Dream
I also love the Earthkind roses. This is the only knid that I will buy and plant in my gardens. I just planted my first 3 rose bushes "Belinda's Dream" about 2 weeks ago. I already have blooms on them. She is so pretty. I am going to get some for my mom for mother's day coming up. She has never had any luck with roses. I told her it would be very hard to kill these type of roses. I also want to reseach a good evergreen rose bush taht I can use for hedges in the front yard. Any suggestions? I like pinks, purple, reds, and blues with lots of pettles.

I can't get enough roses
I have 5 blaze roses growing up my back deck! If you want a climber that puts on a show this is it. I am growing right now - Golden Showers, New Dawn, Josephs Coat, Climbing Pinkie, Mutabilis, Mrs. BR Cant, Burgundy Iceburg, Knock out, Bishops Castle, Windemere, Janet, St. Cecilia, Cherokee Rose. And I will be getting Belinda's Dream, Blueberry Hill and Bonica in a couple of weeks from an online nursery.
I am totally consumed by roses! Especially what they are now calling Earth Kind roses. The ones that will grow almost disease and pest free in even the worst conditions. The knock out, mutabilis, mrs. br cant and blaze are soooo easy to root. Once you get one, you can have as many as you want. They make great gifts as well.
As far as taking your roses with you when you move, roses are a lot tougher than people give them credit. Enjoy your Tropicana!
I am Growing Roses Also.
I have the following growing now:
Tropicana Rose
Don Juan Rose
Red Climbing Rose
Pink Climbing Rose
Pink Minature Rose
Red Minature Rose
Peach Tree Rose
Yellow Rose
Pink and White Swirl Minature Rose
White Rose
This is all I can think of now. But I think I am missing some named ones.
I bought two new roses this

I finally got tree roses..
I finally went to my favorite rose growers and got 2 tree roses! Actually, mine are the Patio -size, the 'Tree'- size looks too leggy to me at 4-5 feet tall. The prices have gone up in the last 10 years, but they were still very reasonable @ $10 each. One is the 'Pink Peace' variety, the other I'm not sure, but it has a nice medium pink double rose...
They also had the Knock Out Roses I've been hearing so much about - very pretty colors too, but I don't have much yard as it is.......

I'm 'loopy' most of the time, but it shows off my 'well-rounded' personality.

Tropicana Rose
mross~I don't grow roses, but I surely do admire them. My aunt always had Tropicana, and it was my favorite out of all her roses. I'm so glad you were able to save yours!
