Wow, I sure hope I do well

Wow, I sure hope I do well with them this spring, I just started the seeds...anxious to see if I have any luck... you mentioned passion flower...they need to be cut WAY back if you are bringing them inside....right about now...so they can rejuvinate...then they will put on a good show, if you dont cut them way back they wont grow as well..I have had mine for over 5 years and now have another color..

Peggy  are the seed hard to get to grow or started. lisa

Lisa I fount this pretty

Lisa I fount this pretty rare awesome exotic vine hard even impossible for me to grow by seed. I wanted to start them early . Well February is not to early for Florida especially when I bought special seedling soil from Gardens, Heat mat and grow light just for these seeds. Shows you how bad I wanted this plant ! I paid $12.00 for five seeds I got 8 ! None of the propagated. I did everything possible needed to grow these seeds. The store owner was kind she replaced them and I still had no luck with second bath of leaves :( They are easy to root by cutting.

Susan I know you want this

Susan I know you want this plant...I am trying to start you one...some of the ones I started have deceased but the ones I started in the gallon ziplock bag are continueing to look good...

I grow the corkscrew in a probably 2 gal pot... I wish I could leave it out to grow but unforutnately in zone 6 here I have to cut it back and bring it inside for the winter..It never fails that when the bean pods are on it winter is right behind it so I never get seed off of it....last year it grew and grew and bloomed in the winter...not as proficently....but what a joy... I am also overwintering one of my passiflorias. also..it looked a lil puny yesterday... I gave it a lil asprin water.

Peggy

Peggy, wow, what a beauty.

Peggy, wow, what a beauty. It is my goal to grow a corkscrew vine next year. I tried on a couple of summers ago but got it started too late.

Peggy, wow is that

Peggy, wow is that beautiful!!!!!!!!!! I just love that vine!!!!!!!!! That baby made it's way to my wish list....that's one I sure would love to have!!!!!! How do you over winter it by the way???? Are you able to grow it as a perennial by doing that? I think I read that it is a perennial when grown in tropical zones like 10 and 11....don't know whether 9 is tropical or not!

Treva I sure hope it does

Treva I sure hope it does well also.
They are looking healthy still...so far..

Susan I do get seed but here in zone 6 I have to end up cutting it back before they are ready...By the time I have to cut it back it is still blooming and the bean pods will have only been on a short time...I think next year I will put it in a large and make an individual large trellis on one of them to just grow on so I don't have to cut it back at all then maybe I can get some seed off it...
I seen cork screw on your Santa wish list...I hope you know that if I have success with the cuttings you will get one...

Ms Treva, jbaby, Cris, I cut

Ms Treva, jbaby, Cris, I cut it back and just take it in the greenhouse.. This year I have 2 in the greenhouse and one in the house and many, many I am trying to get started from cuttings...fingers crossed for sure.. If I get them growing the first three of you will get a start of it...Is that fair? Yup as far as I'm concerned... Although I know I heard in Santa's wish lish that a special friend of mine has that on her wish list... if nothing else... I want to send this to her...
I would love to show more views of this plant but pics doesn't let me.. It seems for now that you can only have one pic per thread...,maybe that will change as time goes along...
