Our golf cart needed some repairs so we went to Sumter SC yesterday.  The gentleman that does our work refurbishes alot of E Z Go Golf Carts.  He had some wire baskets (that go behind the seat) of the golf cart, piled up like they were junk.  Asked what he was doing with those baskets and he said hauling them off with the other junk.  I took three of the baskets.  This is the first one that I did today.   One man's junk is another man's treasure.

Time I saw those metal

Time I saw those metal baskets discarded in a pile I knew what I wanted to do with them.  I bought a coco liner from WalMart for less than $3 and cut it to fit.  i plan on putting one the metal baskets on a PVC stand.  I think that will have a totally different dimension to it. Sometimes when I am at a Thrift store I see metal stand or wire basket and I buy it for $1 sometimes less.  If I don't have a specific item in mind, the wheels start turning when I leave the store with my purchases.

please,please,DO write that article!

I will write the article

I will write the article but I promise there is nothing to it.  You are going to be so dissappointed.  Usually takes me about 30 minutes once I decide on what I am going to put together.  Takes longer for the paint to dry than anything else.

Neat Idea!

Dale, you are so clever to make planters out of old baskets.  They are very attractive, and your flowers are beautiful.

Dale, you may not think there is anything to write, but it's so neat....I wish you had pictures of the entire process as you did it. That would really help people understand all that you did!!!!!!!!!!!!

All of the planters are so neat and fun and whimsical and creative!

You have...

Dale, you've got a real gift for this! You have to be able to see something beyond the piece of junk.........kind of like seeing the forest through the trees. Obviously you can do that quite easily. Tell me, though, do you look at the piece of junk and think to yourself that I can make this into something specific, or do you think to yourself, I know that I will be able to come up with an idea that will turn this into something special and then just buy the piece of junk for next to nothing and take it home?
