This tomato plant sprouted in one of my patio containers filled with calla lilies. The plant grew really well so tied it up on the gazebo support. The first tomato should be ripe for picking in a few weeks.
I remember telling someone that I do not do veggies in my garden, but since this one came up on its own I figure I may as well encourage it to grow.

They sure will.........
The picture didn't show up,
I knew you just had to ask!
It is not from bird poop!!
At least I caught everyone's attention!!
During the winter months I empty my bucket of kitchen scraps into my empty patio planters I use for cannas and callas (*usually because the planters are closer then the compost bin and do not have to climb over ice banks*) During warm spells the scraps rot down making room for more kitchen scraps. By spring all I have to do is top off the pots with potting soil, then plant my (in this case) my callas! The compost continues to break down and have to add another inch, or two of fresh potting soil!
I have an idea of what type of tomato they are because I usually buy a cluster of local hot house tomatoes. They are the size of a large plum!
My mom's bedroom looks out on the tomato plant that I tied up to the gazebo trellise and she's counted 12 tomatoes (so far) and the plant looks like it will keep popping out more fruit!!!!!
At the end of the growing season....usually mid to late October, I empty and spread all the broken down compost and spent potting soil in low areas in the garden! Nothing goes to waste..... and these tomatoes will go great in toasted bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich!!!! love BLTs!!

That's a riot!
I guess we could all say that you DEFINITELY got your money's worth from those tomatoes you bought.
Try a new spin on your BLT.... I like mine on whole grain bread toasted, but have you ever had a BLT with avocado slices on the top? YUMMO, as Rachel Ray would say! Try it, you'll like it -- I think! I sure do!
