Reminder: All members posting photos!

We do have lots of wonderful photos from various members and they are all very much appreciated. Keep them coming!! They really help to improve the GH experience!!
For those members who take photos that are fuzzy, dark, or blurred, when you download them from your camera, please delete them and not use them on GH. When these photos are resized they are even more fuzzy, dark, or blurred! These fuzzy, dark, or blurred photos do nothing to enhance the GH experience and will be deleted. Please, take your time to take a good photos. Only good photos will be accepted. Bad ones will be deleted.
So be kind, and be considerate to the photo editors, we would like you to delete them, so we wont have to!!!

Y'all after my own heart.
Y'all after my own heart. If everyone would review their own photos and delete when appropriate that would be so helpful. We have come a long way in photo gallery but we still have a long way to go. Al is trying to get GH to the next level and with everyones help we can get there. I will be glad when GH gets to be monetarily self sufficient.

Just my two cents to say,
Just my two cents to say, "Thank You" to all our members who upload such clear beautiful photos. They are educational and helpful.
I want to especially thank our dedicated Photo Editors and their Team Leader for taking the initiative provide direction for the rest of us --not to mention your many hours of dedicated service.
Finally, I would like to encourage all our members to begin using the wonderful photos and images in your other posts, such as stories and articles, recipes, Plant ID, forums and other areas. It's easy to do; click on the little camera in the menu bar, select one of your own photos or tap into a gallery and select any photo/image to insert it in your post.
If you get lost or need help, ask one of our talented Photo Editors or their Team Leader.
Al thank you for the
Al thank you for the wonderful comment, my photo team has been remarkable. If someone sees a recipe or story and they have seen a photo that could be used to illustrate, pm that person and give the link or name of the caption. Example: Susan posted a wonderful Fruit Cobbler recipe recently. There was a handsome bowl of fresh fruit in the gallery that I had seen. I sent her a message and let her know what was available to illustrate her recipe. That photo really enhanced the recipe. So with everyone help we can get GH to the next level.

All members can help...
All members....you can help also, by going through your photos you have uploaded... look them over to be sure they are good clear photos that will enhance the site's galleries. Go to 'New Content' and click on 'My Recent Posts' tab at the top... you will find all your posts and images there and you should be able to delete your own photos if necessary... (except for a few older posts. If you find a photo of your own you can't delete, click on 'report this page' and it will be deleted for you by the photo editors.)
You can help out too... by making sure they are labeled correctly... Captions for plants.
All photos should have a title (1-5 words only) that describes the photo.
Thank you... Photo Team!... and all members... for helping make the site a great place!

Thank you Susan!
Good, clear images are a real asset to GH, and to all members who view them. We all want to be proud of this site and that means taking pride in the quality of your photos!! We, members of the Photo Editors really appreciate the amount of work everyone puts into GH. So, please post only clear photos with good detail!! It will make our live, as Photo Editors, a little easier.. as it does take a lot of our personal time to either 'doctor' up some of the 'not to bad' photos, and,or deleting them!

Thank you so much, Ron!
Ron, I couldn't agree with you more! Pictures have always taken up a lot of space on the site, and now that GH is using a dedicated server which adds substantially to the operating costs of the site, it has become increasingly more necessary for us to be mindful of the quality of material that is posted on this site. I hope that for folks who have to rely on dial up, that the time it takes to load things on the site doesn't take as long as it did on the old site. Still, we are not charging our members anything to use this site, and every single staff member who contributes to this site is a volunteer.
We are trying to bring many new things to this site, new things that we hope will be helpful to all of our members, but at the same time will bring added revenue to the site. If the quality of the material that is used for this purpose isn't the best that it can be, we run the risk of losing our ranking in search engines AND potential advertising from Google.
If you see that a photo you take is blurred (which you can easily do by checking the pictures after you take them,) don't even bother to upload it to your computer. Delete it before you upload the rest of the pictures. If you can't tell, that's fine, but you should be able to delete any photo you've uploaded even after doing so.
Please preview your pictures before you upload them to the site! We're not asking people to take pictures that are the quality of Ansel Adams' pictures, but we do want the pictures to be in focus. They need to be clear enough to let the viewer know that the image does look like what the caption says.
The Photo Editors have been deleting a lot of images lately because of the poor quality. It is taking a tremendous amount of time for each of them to do. We would all be doing them a great favor if we would pay more attention to what we are uploading before doing so!
I thank you, and I'm sure that Dale and all of the members of the photo team will thank you even more!
