Low and behold upon inspection this morning my girl has aphids! Yuck yuck yuck so I gave my sweetie a real good hosing down with a squirt bottle of just plain water. I hate to bring out the tanks at first when all that is needed is a squirt bottle. So its about time for her next shower I hope not to see any more green pests! What do any of you use for these green pests? Dear me I forgot to say they were on my rose bush!

Thanks

Thanks for your replys! I saw somewhere that dish soap with the anti-bacterial stuff wasn't good so that's another reason I didn't mix any of that up. Silly me bought the stuff on sale & low and behold its anti-bacterial. I do have some Murphy's so I may try that. My little spray bottle is an ounce I think so maybe just adding 1 or 2 drops of Murphy's & 1 or 2 drops of olive oil if I keep seeing them? This mornings inspection revealed a few but not like yesterday. So hopefully I have the upper-hand!

I had a problem with

I had a problem with aphids about 6 years ago.  I bought live lady bugs (1,500 for about $8)... haven't seen an aphid since.

I use Pyola from Gardens

I use Pyola from Gardens Alive.  It's all-natural and safe for the environment.  I think it's Canola-oil based.  If you choose to try this product, I recommend buying their Weather shield spreader sticker also.  It just makes the Pyola sticker so it'll last longer on your plants.

Crabbergirl is a very busy

Crabbergirl is a very busy lady, but I believe I saw her post her recipe for hot pepper spray.  She swears by it.  She lives in Florida where there are lots of bugs.  She is staunchly organic too, so whatever she recommends is safe.

That is a good suggestion

That is a good suggestion Susan.   But I use few drops of Ivory Dish detergent and a couple drops of Olive oil in a quart spray bottle.

I use dish soap and veggie

I use dish soap and veggie oil in water with garlic in it. It repeals most bugs. There is also a recipe for hot pepper spray out there somewhere that I've used.

I'm not sure I'd use dish

I'm not sure I'd use dish soap, but Murphy's oil soap is real mild and if you dilute it enough it would work great -- with some cheap oil. For the hot pepper thing, I think you slice the hottest peppers you can find open. The seeds are the firey part, so you want to make sure you get the seeds in there. Throw some garlic in there too, and add some red pepper flakes. Then mix that with something like one part of soap to 10 parts of water and add some oil so it will adhere to the leaves. That should help. Otherwise, that Immunox is pretty reasonable at Lowes, and it's supposed to be used for roses and other flowers. DeeDee told me about it and as soon as I can get to Lowes, I plan to stock up on it.

Spray them with Immunox.

Spray them with Immunox. It's also a fertilizer, but that should take care of it! You can get it at Lowes pretty cheaply. Get it in a spray bottle!
