I finally moved back to our permanent place (after taking a long break in winter), so the dome is now where it belongs to - presiding over my african violet.
I used this free pattern of the Internet, I just made it a 5 panel, instead of 6. If you make all 6 panels, there's almost no height to the roof pitch, and i didn't like it. I also put clear glass in the openings on all sides, but didn't have a bottom as you can see on the picture.
I am so looking forward to seeing your 214 piece project! Tatyana
Yes, we did start that conversation, and encouraged by you, I signed up for his newsletters, and even had my mother in law sign up for them too :0 See what you started! I pulled this pattern of the free website, it was originally going to be a bird feeder with 6 panels. And I truend it into a plant dome with 5 panels, no changing of the pattern and it worked, all the angles came together just right.
I'll look it up and post the hyperlink here if you'd like. Gove me a day or two. Tatyana

Oh yes, that would be wonderful!! If I get a chance, I'll post some pictures of my work for you to see. I actually have one that I'm repairing - it was my second project ever and it had 214 pieces! It didn't scare me but I knew I was in over my head! It turned out ok but now I'm repairing it because it fell and a few pieces got broken. Anyway, I have it so I can take pictures of it - I didn't do that before I gave it away!

I think we may have started a conversation on the old site about our stained glass interests...do you have a pattern for that dome? I love it! I like doing 3 dimensional pieces myself. I have made birdhouses and bird feeders and a few panels. I found a really cool site about creating 3 dimensional pieces - it's called stainedglasssculpture.com. I have no affiliation with the guy but LOVE his creativity...
3rdkidpig, here's the link to the bird feeder/plant dome
