I love spring planting

Your gardens all sound great. It's interesting what some people cherish the most and present as the "prize" flowers in their gardens. Those amarillyus sound very pretty. I bet they will be real eye catchers. I finally got some hyacinth bulbs and arounf 150 tulip bulbs . Plus, I have lots of cool seeds that I have gotten in trade. So, I'm looking forward to getting some trays going. I've been planting since feb here in georgia. So, I've been spacing things out so I don't get overloaded. Right now I'm really into getting seed trays going.

I've started 3 trays of sunflower sensation mix and chianti, 3 trays of morning glory clark's heavenly blue, 2 trays of blue colimbine, 2 trays of purple columbine, 1 tray of  lime green hosta, 1 tray of varigated hosta, 2 trays of lavender poppy, 1 tray of pink cosmos, and 2 trays of viola johnny jump ups. Of these about half have germanated. I have LOTS more seeds to get started, so tommorrow I will get going on these.

I'm really excited about my first roses (Belinda's Dream : Earthkind). I put in three 1 gallon rose shrubs with 4  clumps Mariachi Daylily alternated in between them. Plus, the jumbo glads are all sprouting (about 25 total) on all sides of the house and fence.

I'm meeting a freind of mine tommorrow to pick up some toad lilies and white lilly of the valley. I just gave her about 18 azalea starts ranging from 2-4 feet tall. Plus, I gave her some strawberry candy daylily. So, we are gonna have some fun swapping things tommorrow. I think I will bring my seed stash that I just got and share with her. She really wants some calla lily (which I just got her 3 bulbs of blaze that I will surprise her with) But, I have some white calla lily seeds that I think I will let her have some of too.

Anyway, I'm rambling right now aren't I? I guess I just have not had time to really get on here lately. Can't wait to sleep and wake up  tommorrow so I can get things going!

Great Job Planting.....

I just want to commend Penny and SKBeal for getting out and getting with spring planting!  All your cannas sound lovely!  I got one new one this year, Wyoming, and am very anxious for the burgundy foliage to start to show  up well!  Hope both of you have great success this spring and summer!  Maybe by next week, I can finish getting plants in the ground; special daises of several kinds for sure.

GrannyRose

I got some great deals on Ebay for some nice named amarillyus for only $4. So maybe check them out. I also bought the Butterfly Amarillyus from Breck's they were more expensive but it was a gift from my family.

Penny you have really been working today.  I have some new cannas too.  I would like to trade for one of your madame Butteryfly Cannas if you have any more.  I wil let you know later which ones I have. I can't remember.

Where do you buy your Amaryllis? I would like to get a few more.

Thanks to sharry_lynn,

Thanks to sharry_lynn, Tatyana and Grannyrose, I've planted several types of cannas that I didn't have before. New this yar are Pink Sunburst, Wyoming, Yellow King Humbert, Cleopatra, Crimson Beauty, Tropical Sunrise, Richard Wallace, Los Angeles, Yellow Futurity, and I also planted some butterfly ginger, Asiatic lilies (which I've never had,) and a slew of stuff just for my beloved hummingbirds. I've had to transplant some pink unnamed cannas, move some Rose of Sharon around and dig up some unwanted things. Those new cannas are in addition to Russian Reds, one Tropicana, several Florence Vaughn, one red velvet and a host of others whose names I don't know.

I hope to have an amazing tropical paradise, and you all better believe I'll be posting pictures galore once they start growing big and strong!
