Sorry to have been MIA.

I can't believe that 3 weeks have gone by since I joined 'The Garden'.  I am deeply sorry for not participating more.

The weather has turned 'pleasant' here and everyday has been very busy ... so much yardwork.  Inclement weather came early last summer and I wasn't able to tuck my gardens away for the winter like I should have.  We had tornadoes and torrential downpours that prevented me from getting out there.  The clean-up has been ongoing these last 3 weeks.  There are downed trees to move; screening on the windows shredded from hail had to be replaced; timber of all sizes in my yards that were blown here from other property; fencing needing to be replaced; and most heartbreaking of all .... my vegetable garden.  The clean-up there is still ongoing.  But, enough about that!  I thank my God for the safety and health of my family and friends.

This week is sunny .... I'm out there pruning fruit trees, bushes, and hedges.  My daffodils and naked lilies are poking through the ground.  I raking away winter's remains and the brown grass is turning green.  My heart is joyful.  This has been a long and difficult winter so I feel like I'm being reborn with my flowers and foliage.

Indoors, my daughter and I are planting our little greenhouses full of seeds and getting them under gro-lights so they'll be ready in 8 weeks to go outside.  She bought 2 sets of shelves this year so it'll be easier on me having them all in one place.

I am grateful.
