Solar Light Craft
Solar Light Craft: This is an easy solar light craft that anyone can do.
NEED:
1 Landscape post
2 figures to go on it
Glue
about 3 feet of rope
1 solar light
U shaped nails
Hole saw the same size as the bottom of you solar light (most are 5/6th or 7/8th.)
Cut one piece at 12", second at 16" and third at 24".
Arange the pieces to the smallest to biggest and decide which side is going to be the back.
Start your rope on the back side bottom using the U shaped nails. Nailing as you go and try to keep the rope as tight as you can when going from one post to the other.
Then go to the top of the smallest and rap around using the nails again and keep as tight as you can.
Then rap around the tallest post at the top.
Once you have all the post secured together with the rope, take the hole saw and drill in the middle of the tallest post. Try to keep it straight because if you don't your light will be slanted. Put your light in the hole. NOTE: You will not be able to get the center wood out. You light post should fit right in. If it is too tight, take your hole saw again and swirl it around in the hole.
Take you glue and put your figures on.
Your done!
I bought my birds at Dollar General. I always make sure they are plastic and will handle weather.
You can use gorilla glue or liquid nail.
I made these a couple of years ago and sold them like crazy at the flea market for $20 each. They only cost me $7 each to make.

I like it! Thanks for sharing it, and the great directions. I love the light idea and have the perfect spot for one of these!
Do you think it might work for a bird bath post also, using a clay saucer instead of a light?
