Slug Damage

Slugs hide in the soil during winter and grow to maturity in about twelve months. Slugs do most of their dirty work at night; chomping through leaves and other plant material. They are unusual in that they often cause holes about the size of a pencil or larger in the middle of a leaf. They are most fond of hosta, vegetables, fruits and tender leaves of flowering plants.
