Good early spring bulb for naturalizing. I have several small, but spreading, colonies. I watch for the ripe seed cases when the foliage starts to die back and scatter the seeds around. This is a non-invasive species that quickly disappears by the end of May and do not compete with other plants. From seed to flowering size bulb normally takes 3 years,
Grow 6" high in full to partial sun. Hardy to zone 3, and 2 with protection.
