Has any one used the rubber mulch yet? I have the rubber mulch mats that I have around some of my smaller trees. But now they have bags of rubber mulch. I think it is expensive. For a .8 cubic foot of this mulch it is $12.50. It is made out of recycled tires but how is that good for the enviroment?

Well I can see it in playground areas but around your flowers? Wouldn't it eventually keep sinking in the ground? I can see the mulch mats because you can just pick those up and use them somewhere else.
I used 3 tons of rubber mulch under our playground to get the required depth according to commercial playground standards. We bought 3 one ton sacks, since they were cheaper than 40 lb bags. It's working well and very soft for fall, but even though we boght large chunk mulch, it's still gets blown around a little....and of course, when kids have their mulch fights, it's everywhere. Got to watch out for it when mowing the lawn around playground. I don't see why it would be bad for enviroment, it saves so many tires from going into landfields.
Well I can see it in
