I am still praying that this storm will meet
THANK YOU TO ALL of You! I
THANK YOU TO ALL of You!
I truley appreciate the prayers, encouragement and your friendships!
Here we Go Again!! We are preparing for a major Hurricane! My son is on the road today heading North to Hattiesburg for shelter! He and his family (3 kids) need your prayers for safety, as do 100 thousands of people all along the Gulf Coast.
My daughter is in hattiesburg, and we are at home we plan to shelter at the school if needed.
Everyone down here are in a panic trying to prepare, with memories of Katrina all to fresh! She hit Aug 29, 3 years ago early morning Monday! It will be 3 years to the day as Gustov hits.
We were without power for weeks and for the first 10 days cell phones were all but impossible too!t so if you dont here from me Please just keep us covered with Prayer. My laptop battery is only good for about 2 hours and we will need it for weather and info.
We have so many garden friends along the Gulf Coast I pray for all of you that God protect you and give you Prace through this storm!

Don't Mess With Gustav
Treva, I know how you feel -- that you want to try to protect your home....The National Guard is supposed to be down there to protect property. Please, my friend, put your safety first and heed the evacuation warnings while you can.
I hope that all of our friends who are in the path of this storm will heed the evacuation warnings. This storm is a real monster and from what the people at the National Hurricane Center are saying, this could be every bit as bad or worse than Katrina.
If we can do anything to help y'all out -- be it put you up, get in touch with people, whatever it is, please don't hesitate to ask.
In the mean time, we will be praying for y'all constantly, and PLEASE, whenever you can, as soon as you can, let us know that you're okay!
God Bless and keep you all! We love you guys dearly!

Prayers for all...
If anyone needs to head up this way, let me know...I have friends from our church and I am willing to bet that they'd open their homes and hearts to people in need. We don't have much space, but I'd share what we can with people, too.
If you hear that there are going to be evacuation orders, PLEASE don't wait until the last minute to deal with it. When we thought Rita was coming here, we went to the grocery stores as soon as those announcements were made. You couldn't find a loaf of bread, a bottle of water or any other beverage, any type of canned food item, peanut butter, batteries or anything else on the shelves in stores. Even Super Walmarts were cleared out. Don't wait until the last minute.
Please be safe, my friends, and as soon as you can get word to someone to let us know that you are safe, please do so -- somehow. We will be worrying about you horribly.
Treva, I know how much you will miss your kids, but take heart in knowing that they'll be safer if they are farther away from the coast. If you need to flee, my home is open to you, my friend.

OMG! MSNBC just announced at
OMG! MSNBC just announced at a FEMA press conference that Gustav is upgrated to a category 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't seen that on the news, though, they are still calling it a category 4, but once it passes Cuba and gets into the warmer waters of the Gulf, it will be a 5 for sure.
Please -- anyone in the path of this storm, evacuate. If you need a place to go, let us know. We'll see if we can find people here who can put you up........We need to band together to ensure the safety of our friends who are in danger.
If you need an emergency readiness kit, you will need the following:
Paper plates, plastic silver ware, napkins, paper towels.
Non-perishable foods including things in single serving containers that won't require refrigeration. Peanut butter, canned things, bread, canned beans, anything that can be eaten without requiring cooking.
Hand Sanitizer, toilet paper, paper towels, plastic bags.
Dry ice -- it doesn't melt; it evaporates.
Batteries, candles, generators.
Water -- One gallon a day per person.
First aid kit
Medicine, important papers like insurance, marriage license, social security card, home and car titles.
Fill your car with gas.
Blankets, pillows, towels, sheets.
A fire extinguisher
A battery powered weather radio.
Dancer 36 and Dorothy D and all of our members along the Louisiana and Mississippi Gulf coast, we are praying for you and hoping that you are heading to safe ground. Please get in touch with us as soon as you can to let us know you are safe.
Susan,The Assistant Administrator, the Texas Yankee and the Texas Rangerette.
Thank You
Thank You My Friends!
You brought tears to my eyes, I Love Y'all so much!
Things are crazy here...in Mobile yesterday you could not find gasoline anywhere!
And all the stores here in Hurley were out of water, candles, lamp oil, flashlights, abtteries!!!! Everyone is panicking and you can feel it in the air!
If we need shelter we will be going to the school by our house, The hard part this time is that my children wont be with me! They will all be in Hattiesburg.
I think they are starting to evacuate New Orleans today so for all of my Friends there please know I am praying for you, and that the Lord God has His arms around you! Just use Wisdom and get to a safer place its you and your family that is important not the houses and stuff!
To All My Friends along the Gulf Coast...
We will get through this storm, even as the storm rages we shall NEVER take our eyes off Jesus! Like Peter who was walking on water as He looked into Jesus eyes (not the storm), but when he took his eyes away and looked at the storm he began to drown! Lets keep our eyes on Him, and we shall come through the storm!
I Love You All
God Bless You

Dear Treva
Prayers added
I add my prayers too, dear friend. Only one who has been through such an ordeal could understand. We had Hugo in 89 and I know Katrina was much worse. I'll be praying for all along the gulf coast.
We also have another storm in the making. Don't know where it maybe heading yet, there's a lot of projections. This coming month of September is always the worse for hurricanes and tropical storms. Keep the coasts in your prayers..please.
Gloria, the new storm is
Gloria, the new storm is Hannah. She's officially a tropical storm now and she's out farther in the Atlantic than Gustav.....but there's a lot of concern that Hannah is going to veer northwest towards the Eastern seaboard of the U.S.
If Gustav winds up making landfall in Texas anywhere near Houston, I'd probably get a ton of rain from the outer bands and more.
I pray for everyone who is in the path of either of these storms, especially since we aren't sure where they will go!
No matter what happens, please all of you, find a way to keep in touch with someone here so that they can let us know that you're safe. GardenHere is a place where people really really care about one another, and I want to ensure that we remain in the know about our friends who may be in the face of potential danger.
Susan,The Assistant Administrator, the Texas Yankee and the Texas Rangerette.
