News From Members In Path Of Gustav

After listening to coverage of Hurricane Gustav, I decided to check on our active members who live in the affected areas to make sure they were okay.
The first person I heard from was dancer36, and she already posted to thank everyone for their prayers.
Today, I heard from Sharry_Lynn who asked me to thank everyone for all of their thoughts and prayers. She and her family are all safe and suffered no damage to their homes, however, she is still without power but was able to access the Internet through a computer at her job. She expects to be without power at home for quite a while. She'll try to touch base here as she can from work. She also said that despite a few broken plants, she didn't lose a single one.
I contacted some other members who were in the affected area, but I have yet to hear back from frillyflower, DorothyD and mebcollins.
It's good to hear that people are safe, and I know that the others will contact us as they can. Apparently there will be power losses for quite some time.
In the mean time, I hope that all who are in the path of Hanna will come through that storm without damage to their homes, cars or gardens, and that they will all remain safe. The next big hurdle will be Ike, wherever he decides to head, and that will be a real disaster.

Hanna
Poppylover, Hanna is supposed
Poppylover, Hanna is supposed to be a fast moving storm that won't linger around like Fay or Gustav. So you may get a good steady rainfall for a day or so, and it will be out of there by Sunday.
As for Ike, that's another matter altogether. At the moment, it's a category 3 wbut it's expected to strengthen. First thought was that it could hit the southern part of Florida like Andrew did. The Florida Keys are evacuating tourists tomorrow. It's possible that Miami and that area will begin to evacuate tomorrow as well.....If south Florida is the target, more than a million people will need to be evacuated. HOWEVER, Jim Cantori from the Weather Channel just mentioned on the NBC Nightly News tonight that they also think that Ike could take a turn and head into the Gulf of Mexico...and it that happens, no one who is anywhere in the Gulf from south of Naples Florida to Brownsville Texas will be out of the path....and New Orleans could get another hit. This is a storm to really watch. If you're anywhere along the Gulf Coast or South Florida, I'd start preparing and buying emergency supplies right now!
Please pray for all who may be in the path of Ike...and for those who will be affected by Hanna.
