Need help with Japanese beetles

  YellHey gang- I need advice.

For the last 2 years I didn't spray my roses because I was pregnant and them just didn't have the time with a new baby.  Anywho, the roses were picked clean by they nasty beetles.

This year I want to actually enjoy my flowers, but I was hoping there was another way besides those harsh pesticides.

Does anybody have any ideas or proven methods for getting rid of these pests?  I already hung a couple of bat boxes, but I know that it may take a year or so before they're actually populated.  Is there anything that eats them? Anything I could buy by the bucket load and dump in my rose garden?

My 2 tiger oscars will be big enough in a couple of months, and I will get great pleasure watching these pests get devoured!  Hey, I don't get out much anymore...  besides, it's a little payback and another reason for not using chemicals.

I'm open to any and all ideas.
