Oh my Gosh...

Those are the same mushrooms that grow under our ash tree. They are so toxic! When we first discovered them growing in the yard we threw them into the pastic garbage can that was sitting on the concrete garage floor. The secreted oils that came from them burned a hole in the bottom of the can and permanently stained the floor. Now we collect them in plastic bags before we place in them in the cans. They usually come up after a rain. All I can say is yuck!!

Could be

They might be ash tree bolete. Some of them are actually edible. But, I consider all wild mushrooms poisonous. There's about 5,000 types that grow in the U.S. Only about 100 kinds are actually edible. Some just taste nasty and some can kill. I'm just fascinated by all the different kinds I run across in my yard. Thanks for the warning though. I usually just let them die in the yard since we don't have to worry about kids getting into them.

Well...

you must not get too many of them. They get so slimy that when it's time to mow we slip on them. That is why we harvest them almost daily.

That looks really menacing, Connie!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I say yuck too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Incidentally, wild morels are definitely edible, but to me, they look too much like little brains.
