Alstroemeria......sometimes called Parrot Lily, or Peruvian Lily.   It is hardy, and is not susceptible to insects.   A good pass-along plant.

Annette, I don't think I have ever seen it in that color -- that color reminds me of the colors of plains coreopisis or galliarda! It makes a great cut flower with a very very long vase life!   Susan, the Texas Yankee Ranger and the Forum Manager

Annette is in zone 8! I would guess that it probably needs nothing colder than 7, if that or 8. They sell it a lot around where my mom lives in flower shops! You're right, it's a big thing that florists use...I think the main part of its attractiveness is that it has such a long vase life. Susan, the Texas Yankee and the Texas Ranger
