I really love this perennial lobelia. It is a vast improvement of the species. Since this is it's first summer in the garden I do not know how well it will do over the winter months.
Blooms late summer onwards 'til hard frost.
Plant in sun to part shade. I have this one where it gets morning sun and afternoon shade.
Needs constant supply of moisture so frequent waterings are essential, as is a layer of mulch.
Grows 20 to 24" high.
Hardy to zone 6

Thanks guys! As if my ego needs any more fluffing!
Lobelia ar fairly easy perennials as long as you divide the clumps every other year. They tend to crowd themselves out!!
They do need moist soil conditions, so if you have a low area that is a bit boggy then you shouldn't have any problems. Or, mulch to conserve soil moisture. You can even pot them up and use them on the edge of a pond!
Most of the cultivars I have in the garden have been available for a few decades and they are developing new hybrids!
