Description
Good old chicken, good flavor - hearty and simple.
Ingredients
- 1 2-3 pound chicken (cut-up)
- 1 stalk of celery, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced thin
- 4 T soy sauce (low sodium soy sauce)
- 1⁄8 t ground black pepper
- 1⁄4 c water
- 1 carrot, sliced thin
- 1 small parsnip sliced thing
- basil leaves
Instructions
Put all the vegetables in bottom of crock pot. Arrange chicken pieces on top. Add pepper. Mix water and soy sauce together and pour over it all. Sprinkle with basil leaves (if desired), cover and cook for 7-10 hours on low
Notes
I usually plan ahead and all chicken I use is prepared after purchase - always skin my chicken and clean thoroughly. Also I pierce the chicken with sharp fork before putting into crockpot.
Good with fresh corn or your vegetable choice.
