I haven't found a Japanese Anemone that isn't invasive.  But, they are worth the trouble.  They add much needed color in the late summer/early fall garden!

Beautiful, Ron!

My mom has some of those in her garden, only I think they're kind of bi-colored...they are more white around the edges and then pink towards the center....In her yard, they don't appear to be invasive...In fact, I wish there were so I could see more blooms. I just love that flower and I think that's probably my favorite thing she has planted in her yard.

Thanks Dale!

Susan, I think we are talking about 2 different species.  Your mom more then likely grows the tuberous type.  Japanese Anemones tend to be a single color and are fiberous rooted, spreading by rhizomes.  These rhizomes go deep so are difficult to get rid of.  When moving, or dividing them I have to make sure I dig out all the roots and some of them go down 10" or more! I always miss a few!  Once you have them you have them forever!!

Here's the other cultivars I have:

Japanese Anemone 'Andrea Atkinson'

Japanese Anemone x Hybrid - 'Pamina'      Japanese Anemone - 'Prinz Heinrich`

Susan!  Send me your home address so i can send you the gazania seeds!!!
