Hummingbird

This photo clearly shows a female hummingbird in flight. It has been calculated that the hummer flaps it's wings 50 times per second. Another source said 10 times per second, with a speed of 60 MPH. While in flight, the hummingbird wings are free to rotate in any direction. This gives them the ability to dart up or down, or sideways in a split second.
