This is a huge ornamental weeping cherry tree that is in my back yard. Neighbor said it has been there for 20+ years. I think it is beautiful. 3 Years ago during an ice storm, there was another tree that fell and took the back side of the weeping cherry tree off. Everyone said I should cut it down, would never grow right. Well 2 years after that you can't even tell anything happened to it. I don't cut trees down unless I have to. That's one beautiful tree. Good for you! Through the years we have come across lots of homeowners wanting estimates to 'top' or remove a tree because it got damaged one way or another. We always suggest a good trimming 'if that's what it needs' and lots of TLC. We never suggest removal unless it's absolutely beyond repair. You'd be surprised at how many people want to cut down a tree because it doesn't look as good as it used to. A good trimming/thinning/raising with some TLC can make a huge difference.
OMG....love a weeping cherry..I can remenber one of my first interest in gardening being about a weeping cherry tree....standing under it and watching the owner trying to prune it and not being sure what to cut first....I love it...Beautiful tree Theresa!!
Its a beauty Theresa. Sometimes a tree only has to be special for a few weeks or days a year to warrent its preservation.

One beautiful tree Theresa! I'm also like you, I never cut a tree unless it's in a dangerous position. Well done for not listening to the "advice", however well meaning it was intended to be.
My mother had a great deal of trouble with me, but I think she enjoyed it.
Beautiful
