How is everyone doing? Are we losing, maintaining or heaven forbid gaining. I went through a period of gaining but I'm back to losing and maintaining. I'm not sure what to do next. I don't think I can eat much healthier and I'm already walking about 6 days a week. My walks are from 1 1/2 miles to 3 miles. I like to put on my Ipod and take the dog and just walk. I'm so lucky that you can walk here in Austin.
Enough about me. Lets hear from all of you. Hints and tips are always welcome.

This thread hasn't been used for awhile. But I have weighed in at 210 for the last two days. I had set a goal of 60 pounds to lose and at 210, I have lost 40 pounds. It has been harder to lose over the past weeks, but the trend is still downward.
I get a little discouraged
Lyn, that sounds like a
Well.......
I quit smoking. Losing weight & stop smoking is multi-tasking (lol). One thing at a time please.
Honestly at this point if I do NOT gain during this no smoking process I am HAPPY!

Wow everryone is doing so
Wow everryone is doing so well. I'm going to get left behind here if I'm not careful. I'm not really losing and not really gaining. I have a 10 pound bounce going on. I've gone up and then down so many times I'm begining to feel like a yoyo. I am careful about what I eat most of the time. It isn't like I eat sugar. It's more like I snack too much and then I quit snacking and then I start having a dawn effect again. Then I do the bed time snack and then I'm up a pound or two because I ate too many snacks. So I back off again. It doesn't help that insulin and lyrica both have a tendency to make you gain weight.
Randy they did that to my hubby. They gave him metformin and never explained how to eat right. I made him take a diabetic classs where they showed the serving size and went through what you should eat. One night I showed him his bowl of ice cream was 3 times the serving size and how much he was really eating. It made a big point to him.
I can do without desserts,
I can do without desserts, but I haven't stopped them entirely. I had the tip off a piece of apple pie several weeks back and some ice cream that had no sugar added a couple of times. But I don't normally have desserts anyway so it doesn't bother me any not to have them around.
Sandi, you are right on with that attitude about multi-tasking. If you can come out of this without actually gaining, that is a big plus.
I tipped the scale at 227 this morning. The weeks show me an interesting cycle. Friday morning is probably my best morning. That will sho the 'low' of the week. Over the weekend, I will put back on a pound or two and by the next Friday, I have been having a net loss of a pound and maybe two. I am content with that as long as it keeps happening that way. At the end of a year, I could actually reach my goal of a 60 pound net loss. But so far, that is a dream. LOL
randy everyone should have
randy everyone should have a dessert once and a while. I sometimes eat 2 or 3 cookies or have a bite of hubbys dessert. As my doctor says if you do without is when you have a tendency to have a craving and overeat. She says never turn down birthday cake or ice cream but keep them on the small size.
I find that when I take the lyrica I get hungry in a few minutes. I perfer to take it with a meal but I take it 3 times a day and that middle dose comes between meals. I sometimes leave it until I eat supper.
I am still dropping ounces,
