Description
This "Butter" is more of a Spread and is good as an additive to sandwiches, or deviled eggs, or dips, or to meats while cooking .... the possibilities are endless! The "temperature" of the Butter all depends on what type of hot pepper you use. This will put hair on your chest!
Ingredients
- 36 hot bannana peppers
- 1 T salt
- 6 c sugar
- 1 q apple cider vinegar
- 1 q prepared yellow mustard
- 1 c white flour
- 1 c water
Instructions
1. Cut the Peppers into pieces, removing the seeds
2. In a Blender, chop the Peppers along with the Vinegar
(I use 3/4 cup of Vinegar for each Blender-Load, saving
some of the Vinegar to rinse-out the Mustard bottles)
3. Remove & put into a Stock Pot (a 10 qt pot or bigger)
4. Add the mustard & Salt and bring to a boil
5. Add the Sugar
6. Add the Flour/Water mixture (have this mixed & ready prior to starting
7. NEVER stop stirring or this will burn & that'll ruin it...
8. Put into sterilized hot pint jars
Notes
Any hot pepper can be used for this recipe. The
idea is to have 3 or 4 blender-fulls of the cut-up peppers,
using about 3/4 cup of vinegar for each blender amount.
It takes 2 regular-sized squeeze bottles of mustard. I've
used upwards of 100 jalapeno peppers for this, which makes
it quite hot. With the smaller peppers I don't bother to
remove the seeds. Remember to wear rubber gloves when
working with the peppers. This "Butter" is good as a spread
for any sandwich and also as an additive to meat when cooking.)
