Gloria So sorry to hear that
Not bad
Hanna wasn't too bad here after all, Mainegal. It came in above us so we were on the better side. Had tornado watches, rain and wind but nothing as bad as I expected. We didn't lose electricity and the sun is shining this morning.
I'll keep you in my prayers as it passes your way..from what I've seen and heard the flooding is the worse problem so far. I'll be sooo glad when hurricane season is over.
OH...sorry to hear they Randy
News
The doctor called today..Randy's surgery has been postponed for 2 reasons. One is Hanna, the other is that the MRI and xrays that Randy had yesterday shows more damage and there's something pressing against his spinal cord. He wants to see Randy in his office again before re-scheduling his surgery. Randy is so disappointed. Not worried, just diappointed...he was ready to get this done.
We are waiting on Hanna to pass thru, she should arrive sometime after mid-night, (if the weather channels are correct) very close to me and Dale. We're expecting 2- 4 inches of rain and winds of 40- 50 mph and have a tornado WATCH in effect till 5:00 am. That's the latest info I have as for now....it has been subject to change. I'm hoping we don't lose electricity. Right now everything is fine.
Gloria I know Randy as well
Gloria I know Randy as well as yourself are so disappointed about the delay in his surgery. I am a believer that everything happens just like it's suppose to. Keep us posted because we care.
It's still raining a little here in Florence. So far, we have had 3.6 inches of rain from TS Hanna. I didn't think we needed that much rain but we must have because that is what we got. Love Ya, Dale

Gloria, I'm so sorry that
Gloria, I'm so sorry that Randy is going to have to wait still longer for the surgery. On the other hand, since there is more damage than was anticipated, it's good to check things out thoroughly before doing the surgery.
You and Dale -- and anyone else in the path of Hanna ought to turn your refrigerators and freezers to the coldest setting -- in case you loose electricity.
I think you are right about Hanna's ETA....she's expected with high tide which will mean that there will be a lot of beach erosion.
Please stay safe during the storm. We're waiting to find out what's going to happen with Ike....fearing that it could make a turn towards the Gulf Coast.
I hope for Randy's sake that this postponement won't last for too long!
Hugs to you dear friend!

Prayers for you both, Gloria!
Gloria, I've been keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Hanna, hoping and praying that whatever happens (and hopefully she won't strengthen,) the situation won't necessitate postponing the surgery. I know how long y'all have waited for this. The Weather Channel and other sources seem to think this is going to be one of those storms that comes on in and moves on out right away, so you may get a good rain fall, but hopefully nothing like Gustav or any of the others.
I know that you both must be feeling really anxious. The surgery my sister had also involved actually removing a disc. She was in so much pain before the surgery, and now she is able to do so many things. I truly hope that the outcome for your Randy is as good as it was for both my hubby and my sister. Once he's recovered and able to do a bit more, I bet he'll be dancing with you!!!!!!!!!
Please keep in touch dear friend, and know that there are loads of people here who love you and are cheering you all on in this!!!!!

Thanks for asking
Thanks for asking Dale..everything went well. Randy has more damage since he had his last MRI last Febuary but everything should still go smoothly and Randy is ready to get this done. He didn't get to see the surgeon today, Dr. Vahma had an emergency, but saw his assistant so there are some details that we won't know till Monday. We do know they will rebuild one disc that has deteriation, and do a fusing. The part that worries me is that the assistant said there seems to be some pressure on the spinal cord but the surgeon would have to take a look and we won't see him till Monday.
We were also told that if the surgery had to be cancelled because of Hanna..they would give us a call tomarrow and reschedule. Randy and I both hope this doesn't happen. I haven't had a chance to check the weather tonight..just goes to show..here I am on GH instead!!!

Gloria, I'm so glad that
Gloria, I'm so glad that things went well for you today. I hope and pray that Hanna doesn't force the date to be changed.
Know that this surgery will do so much to change Randy's life. It will free him of the pain that's held him captive.
Please keep us posted and know that we'll be praying for you and sending you all of our loving thoughts.
Take care of yourself, too, dear friend!

Thanks Susan, you are such a
Thanks Susan, you are such a dear friend and you are so right about being captive by pain. In the last year Randy has changed so much. He was so full of energy, like the energizer bunny, he kept going and going and going. Now it's one slow step at a time, bent, and depending on meds to give him some relief!!! Before this, Randy would not even take a asprin and I couldn't keep up with him. Now I wait for him to catch up and help him along. It hurts my heart to see him in pain like this. For him to be pain free would mean so much. We have faith that this surgery is going to be a blessing. There are better days ahead!!
I appreciate every prayer and every good thought that my GH friends sends his way. I'll keep you informed as I can next week and after.
