Hardy Plants

I am in zone 8 and year before last we had a really cold winter, many days below 30 and the turks cap both big plants came back; same thing with the yellow cassias and abelia.  These are all out in the open and I just mulch for the winter.

choc. mint

zinna love ri want some of that chocalte mint u got

meg peavy

ahhhhhhhhhhh, texas?

So they would not be hardy to zone 6? With the below freezing winter temps? Better luck next time, I guess!

Definitely not hardy for you!

Definitely not hardy for you! I question whether they'd be hardy for us in zone 8.......especially that corkscrew vine, which, by the way, was introduced into this country by Thomas Jefferson.

Weeze

Are any of the plants hardy? Some I never heard of before.

Plant swap

The red turks cap, yellow cassias, abelia shrub are perennial and stay in the ground and come back every year.  The coral salvia is an annual and self-sows itself and comes up every year.  The red butterfly would probably comeback every year but since I only had one last year I put it in the plant house.  The res shrimp, corkscrew vine and cigar plant I bring in for the winter.

ahhhhhhhhhhh, texas?

They would not be hardy here and I don't want to mess around with bringing anything in. No good at keeping them alive! Oh, well!

I am so drooling over those

I am so drooling over those plants, Weeze....especially the corkscrew vine. Those are all magnificent hummingbird attracters. (Everyone here knows that I'm the crazed hummingbird fanatic...I've got about a half a dozen hummers who've been fighting with one another all day.)

I haven't had a chance to welcome you, fellow Texan. I have a hunch that we are practically neighbors. I'm in Bell County.
