Printer-friendly versionSedum make a great ground cover.  They are very resistant to temperature changes, and can take heat very well.  This plant blooms in late summer with red flowers, and the foliage turns a brilliant maroon-red in the fall.  It's perfect for rock gardens because of it's trailing habit.
