Dirty Dozen

FYI
MSN home page has an article that I found really interesting called "the dirty dozen".
About plants that are lovely but are very hard to control. Some of them must be worse in some
areas because we trade some of them on site and I will plant some of them in my yard. Like the trumpet
vine that I know in Mississippi grows rampant but they do great and stay under control here.
Check it out.

I cann these kind of plants GARDEN THUGS

I have a few and Digest is sending me some more.

I have specific places I put them.  LIke on the side of the house that does not get a lot of sun.

I have Sctoch broom there and it is doing well but not too well if you know what I mean.

That is also where I am going to plant the Jerusalem Artichokes Dale  is sending me. I love the black eyed susan looking lfowers that smell like chocolate but they do tend to take over if not harvested for food.  But I want them to take over here.  My DH pulled all the bushes and trees out of there because he thought they were over grown.  Now there is nothing there but weeds - BIG improvement - NOT!!!!!!!!!!

The only garden thug Iwill never replant is Moonlilies.  I planted one plant once by the door to my kitchen that year I did not strip off the seed pods and I have  been fighting them for atleast five years maybe more.  It seems even a small portion of a root will in one summer produce a plant of gaigantinc proportions.  SO no more of those for me LOL
