Boy am I feeling greedy right now!

The long story is that my Kodak EasyShare cx7330 had been acting up for the last couple of weeks and it finally gave up on me!!!

In our local newspaper they were running 2 week auction to raise funds for charities in the area, so I thought I'd look at placing bids......

After some nerve wracking moments, seeing I was only going to win the bid on one camera I placed some last minute bids on 2 other cameras and thought I would get at least one of the three.

Time moves on....5:30 pm (today) the bidding was fast coming to an end, and by a minute to 6 I thought I won the bid on the Fuji and not on the other 2!  That was great since the Fuji was the camera I really wanted.....time moves on...I checked my e-mail.. .which confirmed that I won the bid on the Fuji.....that was great and was ecstatic that I'll now have  a better camera....well....another email ...it stated that I won the bid on the Samsung.....this couldn't get any better!  Imagine 2 good cameras for a bit less then the price of one....WOW!!!

Another email.....it said that I won the bid on the Minolta.....now this is getting a bit much....I clearly seen that I didn't win the bid, as I tracked the auction in those last minutes,..... but the email stated that I did get the winning bid!!

This is really becoming too much to think about....and I was feeling a bit greedy!!!!  No, a lot greedy!  Things like this just do not happen to me and it really felt, feels weird that all I wanted was one good camera and handed up with 3 for the price (and a bit) for the price of one!!!

Needless to say, my wife, Jackie, out of the blue, looking perplexed, said that I can never enter another auction.....  She will be claiming the Minolta as her own!!....and I wont be bidding on any more auctions!!!

I'm just now starting to calm down!!  I loved the rush but I'm pooped after all this!!

Susan, You're right!

Been taking photos with the Samsung on the weekend and now I am playing with the Fuji S5200.   I'm having a problem installing the software that goes with it!  When I inserted the cd to download my system crashed for some reason.  I'll eventually figure it out!  I had to delete the Kodak easyshare program since I wont be using it anymore!

So, if you do not see me for a while it is because my PC crashed again!!

Penny

Your photos are improving.....I haven't been deletely as many!! Wink

New Cameras

Ron Enjoy your new toys. You are doing some great work with your cameras with all the lovely photos your share with us. I am still working with my camera to learn more how to get better photos. I always heard practice makes perfect.  Enjoy yourself.

Most

Ron, you certainly seem to know how to get the most out of a camera.... certainly more than I can seem to get out of our Kodak Easy Share Dx6490.  It won't do Macro, which is a feature I wish i had looked for when I got it for Ann several years ago.  She recently dropped it in and damaged the lens and took it in for repair which cost about $87 US.  The repair man kept telling her how good a camera it is.

I hope you have many years of enjoyment with a camera for every need.

Got my cameras!

Went this morning to pick up my cameras.......love new toys!

Been playing with the Samsung 7.2 all afternoon. I think i got the grasp on how to do the macros....with 2 settings i can get an inch away with the super macro!!  Need to work with the  resolution options so when I resize i do not lose all the great detail!!!

It is a great camera!  Lots of options that my kodak didn't even come close to having!  I can recharge the battery by using the USB cable (the one from the camera to the PC, just need to disconnect from the PC and add the charger and plug it into the wall.....recharges in less then an hour!   Each charge is good for 70 minutes of constant photo taking...which is more then I need!

Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy, I love my new toys!!

Congratulations, Ron!

Ron, if we don't see you around here for a while, I'm sure we'll all know why; you'll be playing with your new toys! Have you checked out the Fuji one yet? If you could take the quality of pictures you had been taking with a 3.1 megapixel camera, I'll anxiously be awaiting some pictures that you take with the new toys.

I don't know what I'm going to do if you start torturing me with even more magnificent pictures of gazanias. I may have to fly to Canada to steal yours! Dale has some plants so maybe I can steal hers. I planted some seeds, but who knows how long it will be before I see actual flowers?

I hate waiting!

I've never been very good at waiting.  I will not wait in a line up at the grocery store if there are more then 3 customers ahead of me!

I get very impatient!  Time just seems to stop, and it takes forever to finally get to the cashier!

I'm still waiting for the certificates to be issued, so I can go get my cameras.     I need my new toys so I can capture all the new plants that are starting to come into bloom....Aghhh!  I hate missing those perfect moments which we all wait a year to snap a shot of!

Yes, I am impatient!!

Me, too!

I understand your sentiments, too, Ron! I feel the same way! I've been wanting a new laptop. My computer is quite old, and it's starting to cause problems all the time.....The longer I wait, the more impatient I get.

As for the grocery store, unfortunately, some times that's a necessary evil, but as I have told my husband, that's why shopping early in the morning is a good idea. No one bothers to come out at that hour.

Awaiting e-mail

Received another confirmation that I won the bids and that they will be sending me a certificate for each of the cameras, once payment is processed.  Then I can go pick up the cameras at the stores that donated the cameras!

They are local stores that I know well and the cameras come with a one year warranty.

So I may be playing with my new cameras by Thursday!!!!

Woo Hoo!

Ron, that Fuji looks like quite a camera! Are they all new cameras or were they used?

I can't wait to see the pictures you take with your new toys.....and I'd love to see more gazania pictures. The ones you've already posted have me drooling all the time, so with a much improved camera, I hardly know how I will be able to stand it.

I told Dale it's a good thing I live several thousand miles away from you; otherwise, I'd be tempted to come steal those flowers because I am just bonkers over them!

Have fun playing, and I can't wait to see some pictures!

I agree with Susan.  I've watched your pictures for several years and I don't think the camera can make you an artist.  But an artist, you are.

I still have to pay!

Thanks Susan, Dale and Mary!

My credit card took a tumble today! They are going to add postage for mailing them to me, and the usual sales tax!!  Should get them, hopefully, by Friday since it is local.  I would prefer to pick them up, but they are not organized to do that....

Can't wait to start playing with them so everyone can enjoy the fruits of my labor (and  my wallet)!!

The nice thing about today is that I didn't even have to leave the house!

It was a very exciting day and a fruitful one!

Ron I am glad you took my advise and shared you joyous win with us.  I am excited as well just hearing you tell about it.  Can't wait to see if your photos get any better.  Don't see how they can get any better but inquiring minds want to know.

How cool!

Ron, tell your wife that any guy that takes the kind of pictures that you take, and the quality of pictures that you take (or took) with that Kodak Easy Share that croaked deserves at least one decent camera. If you can get 3 for the price of one, then that's even better! I can't wait to see the pictures you are going to shoot with your new cameras! Will your wife allow you to try the Minolta out? My DH has a Konica Minolta and I think it's about 6 megapixels!

Congratulations!
