 Thanks, for your comments Dizzy, as now I'll know what to do should mine ever take a notion to bloom!  LOL  When I pulled the soil back some from around mine, I noticed that one of them is putting up extra shoots around the main plant. This tells me that at least it's growing.  I also worked some ashes into the soil around both of mine.  Thanks for all the Peony tips!

Hey Dawn, glad to hear it! Keep watching for the buds - they'll show up as soon as the leaves 'leaf out'. You are going to LOVE the fragrance of the Sorbet!!! First year, I only had the one HUGE bloom on mine, but it was large!!

On your peonies; did you know the blooms are similar to dahlias in that there will usually be 3 buds together? The center or main bud will be the largest and if you are going for the largest bloom possible, you should pinch off the side buds to keep plant resources feeding only the center bud.  If you don't care about the size & just want as many blooms as possible, let them all 3 develop.

Be sure to deadhead spent blooms so your peony plant can store more energy for next year's blooms -instead of trying to make seed.
