Started moving my compost pile and was amazed at the black gold. Considering I hadn't turned the pile since fall, I wasn't expecting much. I got three good wheelbarrows full to add to my raised bed. Hopefully it means good veggies this year!

I've been tracking ants for the past two days. It seems like they're everywhere. It looks like some crazed caretaker went on a binge and then tried to make some sort of baseball diamond. I followed trails and sprinkled diatomaceous earth over them and the main nests. Thankfully we have rain predicted so I won't have to live with the white lines for long.

If I could spend as much time planting as I have been dreaming over catalogs I would have the whole acre planted. So back to work...
