Block Island Ferry Block Island Ferry

As most of you know, I went to see Tatyana in Block Island RI. I would recommend going to see the Island to anyone that wants a nice relaxing vacation..all of the buildings still have the "old world fishing town" feel . . . and the Islanders are all so welcoming.

You have to take a ferry to the Island, it can be taken from NY, Connecticut and RI. You can see Conn, and Ny from the Island on a clear day.

It is an hour ride from RI to the Island. The seats inside are like airport seats, and they actually carry cars, and trucks on the ferry. On our ride to the Island, they even had an 18 wheeler, full of a roof and shingles for a house they were building. When we left the Island, the roof and shingles were all on the home !

Lobster BoatsLobster Boats

When we left port, there were many lobster boats getting ready to go out to sea. We saw about 10 boats catching and trapping lobsters on the trip. Those men work really hard for there money, and many dont come home.

Seals on Block islandSeals on Block Island

We went to the Salty pond, and watched the seals with binoculars, and could hear them calling to each other..and walked and collected sea shells. We ate eclairs, and drank lemonade..and laughed and talked the afternoon away. We came home with a bucket full of sea shells, and sunburn..and lots of great memories!

Sunset on Block IslandSunset on Block Island

Our first evening on the Island, Tatyana and her Hubby Lee took us to see the sunset, we were joking that we got to see half a sunset, cause it was almost gone when we got there. It was very windy that evening, BUT it sure was worth seeing.

Home on the IslandHome on the Island

This was one of my favorite views on the Island. It just reminds me of the pictures you see in a travel magazine for oversees. Did you know there is 365 ponds on Block Island ?? They like to say there is one for each day of the year. SO you can enjoy fresh water fishing AND salt water fishing, with in minutes of each other.

Thanks for coming to the Island with me, hope you enjoyed it !
